Bourbon Lane Stable’s exciting 3-year-old filly, Bourbon Serengeti, made a bold statement at Churchill Downs on Sunday, taking Race 2 by storm and securing a dominant wire-to-wire victory in the $92,000 Maiden Special Weight. The talented daughter of Distorted Humor was the favorite going into the race, and she didn’t disappoint, covering 6 furlongs on dirt in impressive fashion.
Trained by the exceptional Brad H. Cox Racing Stable, Bourbon Serengeti has consistently demonstrated her potential on the track. Sunday's win brings her career record to three finishes on the board in four starts, with earnings climbing to $84,920. This latest victory is a testament to her development and the strategic planning that has guided her racing journey.
A big congratulations goes out to all of our partners at Bourbon Lane Stable and the entire ownership group. Special thanks to Brad Cox and his team for their incredible training job that has helped Bourbon Serengeti reach her full potential. We celebrated the day in style with a stop at Whiskey Thief Distilling Co. for a bourbon tasting – the perfect way to cap off a successful day at the races!
Bourbon Serengeti was purchased by McMahon and Hill Bloodstock (bloodstock agents Mike McMahon and Jamie Hill) at the 2023 OBS April Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale for $50,000 from Niall Brennan Stables. Her performance is a great example of how smart investments and well-executed partnerships can lead to exciting success in the sport.
